Triley - 80 Prot Paladin
Character Name: Triley
Your Age: 26
Class: Paladin
Level: 80
Talent Spec: 0/53/18. My Ret offspec is currently PvP, but I've had variations of a PvE Spec as well
Armory Link: When Armory works, my link is
Professions: Engineering 450/Mining 450
Current Guild: Asylum - this is a guild my friends and I formed when we came to this server, only 3 of us currently in it.
Previous Guild/s & Reason/s for leaving: Lesson in Violence was the last guild I was in. Basically, it came down to our being there causing more drama than it was worth. When officers started promoting belligerence towards my friends, I thought it was time to move on. I wasn't personally involved in any drama, I was out of town when it occured, so I didn't leave on bad terms with anyone, it was a short relationship, but I thought it best to move on and let them continue without me.
Before that, the last guild I was in was Aspiration on Sisters of Elune. I didn't so much leave this guild as have it fall out from under me due to attendance issues. Eventually, a disband was determined the best course, and pretty much everyone left on decent terms with no feelings of ill will.
Why are you interested in joining Merciless: I'm looking for a guild that takes progression seriously without allowing that to foster elitism and general 'I'm better than you' attitudes in the guild. From what I've seen so far, Merciless fits that description.
What do you think you will gain from joining Merciless: I'm hoping to gain a place where I can raid consistently with my current friends, but also a place where I feel like I can make new friends. Raiding isn't the only aspect of the game I enjoy, but I do enjoy it, and I want to do it in a place I can be comfortable with and with people who have like-minded ideals when it comes to raiding.
What do you think Merciless will gain from you joining: I'm hoping a competent player who knows her role and can understand where I fit in the raid. I generally follow directions well, and don't usually make the same mistakes twice.
Do you consider yourself guild oriented and why: This is a difficult question for me. I'm normally pretty willing to help out fellow guildies in need, not that I like begging, but I can tell the difference. Since I can't speak on vent, I don't generally lead things though (5 mans are the exception). I've found no matter how well meaning I am, it just doesn't work well. However, this doesn't mean I need a guild to constantly entertain me. I'm perfectly capable of finding things in game to do on my own, with close friends, or just logging off if I'm not interested in what's going on in any given night.
Rank these in Order (Loot, Progression, Helping Others, Self, Friends): Progression, Friends, Helping Others, Self, Loot
Pre-BC/BC/Wrath Raiding Experiences: I didn't start the game until BC, so I don't have any vanilla raiding experience. In BC, I never got as far as I wanted, though I did see Kara, ZA and Gruul's downed on two separate characters. I started my pally very late in BC, around the time Sunwell was released, so I just never got her to the point where she could be considered for serious raiding guilds, especially since pallies, for the most part, weren't considered serious tanks. In Wrath, I've seen pretty much all the current content. I've been up to FC in ToGC 10, cleared ToC 25. My Ulduar experience isn't as high as I would like, I took a raiding break back in June, and with ToC out a few months ago, I really haven't been back to see as much as I wanted. I've done up to Vezax in both 25 and 10 man, with a smattering of achievements in both. Few more Hard Modes in 10 than in 25.
On a scale of 1-10 how well do you know your class/spec (Be Honest): 8, I'm very versed in Prot, and pretty familiar with Ret. With Holy, my knowledge really falls off. I will say, my level of engagement in my class is directly proportionate to the difficulty I'm trying to accomplish. With no guild for the past few weeks, I haven't paid much attention, but when I need to know my stuff, and find out what I can do better personally, I know where to go.
Do you currently know anyone in Merciless: Just the people who I met in the raid last night. Fun times, and a good group.
Do you have Ventrilo / DeadlyBossMods / Omen: All 3 yes.
List the start time and end time of your raid availability: Mon-Thurs 5:30pm-12:00am CST. Fri-Sun is pretty variable for me. I can generally make one or two of those, but I have other responsibilities and can't commit to anything. For some normalacy, I'll say 9:00pm-1:00am CST, but often I'm available much earlier than that.
Two people win the roll for the same piece of loot. Player A wins, but Player B will get a larger upgrade from the loot. Who do you think should get the item and why: There could be a lot of mitigating circumstances with a situation like this, but generally with everything else being equal, Player B should get the loot to help the entire team out more. Personal Progression shouldn't be greater than Guild Progression as a whole.

Sorry about that, I didn't actually paste it in when going through the responses, just left a place for it.
